What do I need to rent a car in Uruguay?
You must be more than 21 years old, present your valid driving license, (from any country), with a minimum of two years of expedition, I.D or Passport, and a regional or international credit card.

May I rent a car if my driving license is from another country?
Our enterprise, such us departmental authorities and Police, accept a driving license expedited in the country where the visitor comes from.

Which is the minimum rent?
You can rent a car from one hour and more. From the moment in which you rent it to the next 24 hours, a day is counted.

What does the charge include?
Our charges include insurance, fully covered in relation to civil responsibility. It offers the possibility of authorizing until three drivers. If you rent three or more days, you get a free total of kilometers. Taxes are already included on our charges.

What kind of insurance do I have?
There are two kinds. In first place, you have an insurance with the following characteristics:
1) Damages caused to the rented car.
The renter does not have to pay for material damages caused to the rented unity (wherever he is responsible or not) that are over the sum deposited in guarantee, as long as he respects the laws from authorities and cooperates presenting the accurate documentation that the insurance company requires.
2) Fire.
The unity is fully covered, but this insurance does not cover any good affected in the inside or outside of the car as a consequence of the fire.
3) Car robbery.

The unity is fully covered, except when the robber is the renter or one of the authorized drivers, relatives, relatives in law or any person related. This insurance does not cover: radio, clock or any car accessory, or any other good that could be inside the car.

Which is the difference between total and partial insurance?
The unity will be equally covered even if you get Total or Partial Insurance, what changes is the sum that you pay showing that you accept the responsibility in case of accident, robbery, etc. This is the sum deposited in guarantee.

IMPORTANT: The sum deposited in guarantee must be pay with credit card, through a signed voucher that will be kept in the enterprise, and will be returned at the end of the period of rent.

Which is the total corresponding to taxes I pay when I rent a car?
The only tax you will have to pay is a 23% of the charge, corresponding to IVA.
Note that it is already included in all our charges.

Can I pay with credit card?
Yes, you can. We accept American Express, Visa, Master Card and Diners: national, regional or international.
You must have a credit card to rent a car.

Is there any difference between cash or credit card pay?
No, there isn't, you pay the same charge.


Do you have Diesel cars?
Yes, we have Diesel and Turbo Diesel unities with an excellent performance, low consume and an accurate power for normal use in city and highways.

Do you have cars with Automatic Transmission?
Although most of the cars in Uruguay have Manual Transmission, nowadays we do offer unities with Automatic Transmission.

What is an additional driver?
An additional driver is every person different to the one that hires the rent, but also haves the right to drive the car, and is responsible for it.
Additional drivers must be registered, because, in case of accident, if a non authorized person were driving the rented car (except when robbery), the insurance would not be valid, and the original renter would be responsible for all the expenses.
To register an additional driver, he or she must be present at the moment of filling the contract. On top of this, he or she must present his or her valid driving license.

How many kilometers do your unities have?
It is not possible to determinate previously the amount of kilometers that the delivered unity will have when you receive it, because it changes from a car to another. In a weekend, a client can return the car with 150 km., but, maybe, the next client returns it with 1000 km.
But what is possible to ensure is that all our unities are maintained, in excellent conditions and have a few years of use.

Can I leave Uruguay with my rented car?
According to insurance and customs laws, you can not, unless you are explicitly allowed, by a lawyer.

What do I do in case of emergency with the car?
You have to communicate to any of the telephone numbers you receive when the car is delivered. You can call from any place of the country, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. We will help you immediately. In case there is a mechanical problem, we will fix it in the moment or we will deliver a new car.

How many combustible you deliver the car with?
All our cars are delivered totally provided of combustible, so you will not waste time when you receive the unity. The amount of combustible the car has, at the moment it is delivered to you, will be registered in the contract you sign. The car has to have a similar amount at the moment you return it. Otherwise, you will have to pay an extra charge, corresponding to the lack of combustible.
